Interesting and spooky experiment: I Liked Everything I Saw on Facebook for Two Days. Here’s What It Did to Me

I Liked Everything I Saw on Fa... www.wired.com screenshot

I'm increasingly skeptical of Facebook. I'm going to keep looking at it and think how I'm going to be using it going forward. Maybe I'm doing it wrong? Maybe there is a way to use it and stay sane? Do you find value in Facebook?

What do you think? Microsoft Launches Three New Surface Pro 3 Ads Targeting the MacBook Air

Microsoft Launches Three New S... www.macrumors.com screenshot

These three new ads are cool and really put bad light on the MacBook Air... But don't show how nice it is to use an air. And they don't show the air on the lap. Again, I prefer #iPadOnly now :-)

Interesting concept by @parislemon: Twitter’s Small Chance To Maim Email - do you agree?

Now with Whatsapp, snapchat and other similar services, twitter will also double down on direct messaging. I don't think it will change email though.... Do you?

As always good advice on saying NO. It's always hard, but so increasingly important. Make sure to ask yourself again today a few times before saying YES to a new commitment.

Talking about iPad as a typewriter (cc @parislemon), here's my review of ✔ Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard - Gadget Review - Productive! Show #77

I also use Logitech Ultrathin and I love it... although I'm not happy with its vertical grip (or lack thereof) - I prefer to write vertically on my iPad and can't do it on this keyboard without a fear of the iPad falling down...

MG Siegler writes:

It even feels like I’m using a typewriter. Because there is no trackpad/hand rest below the keyboard, it feels like I’m attacking the keys at the typewriter angle, versus hovering over them at the keyboard angle.

Totally true. Can't agree more :-)

Totally agree with this article. Do you? Pleco: Building a Business, not an App

Pleco: Building a Business, no... stratechery.com screenshot

Nozbe is a business. It's not just an app. It never has been. It's a suite of apps now (Mac, Windows, Linux, iPhone, iPad, Android... and more coming soon). But it's a business and I always tried to make sure I could stay in business. And we're doing great, having a better year each year... and growing. And with the iPhone and iPad we're going places we never thought would be possible. And now with Nozbe beta I think we have a shot at taking it all to a whole new level.

The Power of the Minimum Effec...

Totally true. Something to think about when you're learning a new skill. It takes some dedication to get even to 90%... but it takes real mastery to move from 90-95%... so maybe 90 or 80% is already good enough? Is it?

I agree with @marcoarment, you sometimes need to deal with sleazy businesses... sad but true, right?

I’ll Never Fly Amazon Ag... www.marco.org screenshot

Great article. It's hard to dismiss Google, Twitter, Facebook, Amazon... because we depend on them so much... but as Marco points it out, you can try no to use them that much and search for alternatives if possible... just in order not to give them as much business as you'd normally do...

And to me it's important to run Nozbe in a way that you'd never have to have similar thoughts about your productivity system :-)
