I think what he really means is that managers must produce like everyone else. If their job is to only manage, politics start to creep up... Right?

Today Apple is unavailing the new iPhone. Great moment to read these quotes by Apple's late CEO Steve Jobs. He changed the world and the iPhone keeps changing our worlds... and I can't imagine my world without this device... and that other device (the iPad I'm writing this on)... and the other ones... damn, I miss Steve.

No. This is a word we all need to learn to use wisely. Being a people-pleaser I don't use it as much as I should be. Hope this talk by my #iPadOnly book co-author will inspire you to really use "No" to change the world.

★ Very inspiring story of how change is possible, by @zen_habits: How I Finally Faced My Weight & Debt Problems

How I Finally Faced My Weight... zenhabits.net screenshot

Fantastic story and blueprint how to handle change and how to help others go through change. Change is tough. Especially when at first no progress is at sight. But progress will come. Just go for it, make gradual shifts and things will finally go the way you want. Leo is a great example of how he gradually changed so many things about his life... follow Leo's path :-)

★ If you emailed me recently, I'll reply this week: Email, Still A Sonofabitch

Email, Still A Sonofabitch | ... techcrunch.com screenshot

For the past two weeks I've been experimenting with not answering email... and seeing where this is going... and now I have an inbox of 1000 messages that need my attention. This week I'm going back to Inbox Zero but the findings of my experiment will soon be published on my blog.

In short - if you recently emailed me and didn't get a reply, you will, but I can't help thinking how email is broken to me recently. And I get a lot more done when I "communicate through tasks" in Nozbe with my team. It's soooo much better than email.

★ Something I've been thinkin g of lately: When Apps Modify Behavior

When Apps Modify Behavior massivegreatness.com screenshot

This Fall we're going to launch a campaign and introduce two new key features to Nozbe that we think can achieve what the article says - "modify behavior". You see, I think as a productivity app developer my goal is far beyond only helping you work more efficiently, it's helping you put new, better habits in place, change the way you work... for the better... and we'll try to get there. Let's see if we can pull it off :-)

I think it's an interesting concept and I see myself testing it for some periods of time... but the thing is, food is not just about pouring stuff into your body... it's about the experience, the joy of savoring meals, sharing it with friends, enjoying the culinary experiences... there's so much more than just that...

★ This is more true than ever now: (by Seth) The trust brand

Seth's Blog: The trust brand

Seth wrote:

When you have a choice in what to buy, you will first and foremost (and second and third in fact) base your choice on a simple question, "who do I trust to keep the promise that the marketers are making?"

That's what I mean - people need to trust you. People need to trust me. I take it very seriously. It takes lots of time to earn someone's trust but it can be lost forever in an instant. But it's soooo worth it to work on it and earn people's trust. This is when magic happens and both parties benefit from this bond of trust.

★ This thing changed communication: Happy 10th bi rthday Skype. You changed everything; too bad you didn’t change Microsoft ― Tech News and Analysis

Back in the day when I was still a consultant and didn't even think about Nozbe (around 2004) I remember I had a client in Spain and they were complaining about their telephone bill when calling Poland to talk to me. And then we discovered Skype and were blown away. It just worked, it was simple, the quality was excellent. Even over a poor Internet connection. Suddenly talking to people all over the world was easier than chatting. Just like ICQ introduced chatting, Skype introduced audio calling.

Now, 10 years later I live on the outskirts of a small city and I have a crappy Internet connection, but a lot better than 10 years ago. Instead of a modem or you know, 256kbit, I have lousy 3Mbit for now (I know, I know) but when I try to call via Skype now, the calls drop, quality is mediocre, and when we try to talk with several people, everything goes to hell after a few minutes.

Now we use FaceTime with my team, we use iMessage, we've practically moved on from Skype. It's a shame, they are a Microsoft product... and they forgot about quality...

The perils of sitting down: St...

So there is a scientific proof that sitting 8hours per day is not a good idea. This is why I'm writing this from my new stand-up desk. And I'm enjoying it a lot.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not standing all of the time, I switch from standing to sitting... I don't do treadmill desk... but this way I get a constant switch of my pose during my normal work day. Totally recommended.

Epic speech by Kevin Spacey: "We are trying to learn a lesson, the music industry didin't learn...", "audience has spoken, they want stories, they want control"...

OK, just watch it. It's so worth it. Maybe the industry will take notice, if not Netflix will kill them. It's already becoming an HBO faster than HBO becoming Netflix. Kevin is just spot on.

The little book of Nozbe | Pro...

When Marcus approached me first about writing a book on Nozbe I was psyched. I loved the idea. Now Augusto, my co-partner in #iPadOnly book is also writing one. So this Fall there will be this book and maybe another one on Nozbe. This is so cool. Can't wait for my Nozbe users go get one of these soon. Marcus is very passionate about productivity so this is not only a great Nozbe manual, it's going to be a great productivity manual that will help you get things done with Nozbe. Sweet.
